Photographs

Milestones along the route.

1995

The office opens on Ugoki Road

SI Travels starts issuing tickets for Sialkot's exporters and their families, in the years when a ticket was still a paper coupon.

2007

Sialkot gets its own international airport

Pakistan's first privately built airport opens on the city's doorstep. Departures no longer start with a drive to Lahore.

IATA

Accredited agent

IATA approval gives the office direct access to the airlines' fare books, so tickets are issued at the counter rather than through a middleman.

Licence 3245

Licensed for overseas employment

Government licence no. 3245 allows the office to place workers with employers in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, with medicals and Protector processing handled in-house.

2022

Nusuk-era Umrah, same counter

Saudi Arabia moves Umrah permits online with the Nusuk platform. The paperwork changes; the people behind the counter do not.

Today

Word of mouth is still how most people find us.

Most travellers who book with us were sent by a relative, a neighbour or a colleague. Here is some of what they tell them.

My parents did their first Umrah with SI Travels. The hotel was close to the Haram and someone answered the phone every time I called.
Ahsan, Sialkot
We travelled as a group in Ramadan. Seats together, rooms ready, transport waiting in Jeddah.
Sumaira, Daska
I book every business trip through this office. When a flight was cancelled they had me rebooked before the airline emailed.
Tariq, Sialkot
